April 29, 2019 (FORT MYERS, FL.): Succession Partners is pleased to announce that Brenda C. Freeman has been named to the board of directors of RTW RetailWinds (NYSE: RTW), an omni-channel specialty apparel retail platform for powerful celebrity and consumer brands. The search was led by Ric Comins, Founder and CEO of Succession Partners. Since December 31, 2019, Ms. Freeman has served as Senior Advisor to the CEO of MagicLeap, a Fort Lauderdale-based privately-owned high tech company focused on virtual retinal displays, where for the previous 3 years she served as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer. Ms. Freeman is currently on the board of directors and is a member of the audit and corporate governance committees of Avnet, Inc. She has served on the board of directors of Caleres, Inc. since April 2017 and Herman Miller, Inc. since 2016. From 2012 to 2013, she served on the board of directors of Under Armour, Inc. Ms. Freeman brings a storied career in strategy development, branding, marketing and customer experience, digital omni-channel and eCommerce, celebrity collaborations and corporate governance. Prior to MagicLeap, she served as Chief Marketing Officer at the National Geographic Channel from 2015 to 2016; Head of Television Marketing at DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. from 2014 to 2015; Chief Marketing Officer, Turner Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media at Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. from 2008 to 2014; and Senior Vice President, Integrated Marketing and Partnerships, Nickelodeon at MTV Networks Company from 2005 to 2008. She has also served in other leadership roles for MTV Networks Company, VH1, ABC Radio Networks, and PepsiCo, Inc. She holds a B.S. in chemical engineering and a joint MBA in finance and marketing, each from the University of Maryland.
